MUSCOS

MUSCOS

The aim of MUSCOS (Multi-Satellite Classification of Oil Slicks) is to evaluate the complementary use of RADARSAT-2 and Cosmo-Skymed measurements for detecting and discriminating different kinds of surface slicks in one marine environment of the Patagonian shelf and during period of the year characterized by relatively high phytoplankton growth.

The objective of the research topic is aligned with the principal objective of the Cosmo-Skymed/RADARSAT-2 program initiative which is the exploration of synergistic use of C-band and X-band in order to extend the range of oberved parameters and increase the knowledge of the factors determining the behavior of the environment.
