NASA has successfully launched for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) the first in a series of four highly advanced polar-orbiting satellites, equipped with next-generation technology and designed to improve the accuracy of U.S. weather forecasts out to seven days.

The ESA/EC RUS (Research and User Support for the Sentinel Core Products) service aims at fostering the handling of Sentinel data and offers training activities, tailored for users at any level of proficiency. Monthly webinars are regularly designed and organised to introduce the basics for downloading, visualizing, analyzing and processing Sentinel data using Open Source Toolboxes.

The next webinar will illustrate the use of Sentinel-2 for burned area mapping. It will be held on Tuesday, 05 December 2017, at 15:00 CET.
